Bio-tribology is a multi- disciplinary field consisting of mechanical engineering, bio-engineering, material engineering and bio-chemistry. It includes all effects created in the interface areas between two biological materials or between biological materials and non- biological materials. This research will concentrate on the theoretical understanding of tribological effects caused by material creep, a phenomenon common in bio-materials. Non-biological materials, specifically polymers, were used as substitutes for biomaterials in order to simulate the material creep. The research consists of modeling the contact between a creeping sphere and a rigid flat, using the finite element method. The results, which include the interference and real contact area increase over time, are presented in dimensionless format that makes the creep contact model a universal one.
