Peptide Synthesis:Historical Perspective of Peptide Synthesis Early Development, Principles of Peptide Synthesis, Solution Phase Synthesis Solid Phase Synthesis, New Development in Amide Bond Formation. Chemical Protein Synthesis and Modification: Overview of Protein Structure, the Concept of Chemoselective Ligation, Native Chemical Ligation (Ncl), Application of Protein Synthesis, Protein Semi- Synthesis, Non-Ncl Based Ligation.

Learning Outcomes
The End of the Course the Student Will Know:
1. The General Chemistry Behind Peptide and Protein Synthesis.
2. Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (for Example: Solid Spports, Linkers, Protecting Groups) and Solution Phase Peptide Synthesis.
3. Peptide Ligatio Methods (for Example Native Chemical Ligation).
4. Protein Semi-Synthesis.
