Principles of Common Techniques for the Chemical and Spectroscopic Characterization of Biomolecules: Size Exclusion, Ion Exchange and Affinity. Chromatography, Analytical Ultracentrifugation, Protein and Dna Electrophoreses, Protein Mass Spectrometry, Biochemical Applications of Optical Absorption, Linear and Circular Dichroism, Infrared and Fluorescence Spectroscopy.
At the End of the Course the Student Will:
1. Understand the Physico-Chemical Principles of Biomolecules Characterization Methods.
2. Know How to Choose the Right Method for Determining Molecular and Electronic Properties of a Given Biomolecular System.
3. Understand the Unique Features of Bio- Molecules and How Analytical Methods Are Adapted for Thes Features.
