Travel allowances for Graduate Students for conferences abroad
Technion considers the participation of Technion graduate students in scientific conferences abroad of utmost important.
To this end the Graduate School awards its students travel allowances which at this stage are available to scholarship holders only.
The purpose of this allowance is to support excellent students in travelling to scientific international conferences
abroad where they present a poster or an article. Eligibility for this allowance is based on the student's academic achievements.
|1. || The travel allowance covers only part of the travel expenses|
|2. || The travel allowance is awarded primarily for presenting an article and secondly for presenting a poster.|
|3. || The travel allowance is eligible only for the duration of the scholarship|
|4. || Eligible to submit a request for a travel allowance are recipients of scholarships of at least three portions, with a minimum research grade of 85.|
|a. || MSc students – are allowed to submit a request at least one semester later than their research approval. They are entitled to one travel allowance during their studies.|
|b. || PhD students – eligible are students after passing their candidacy examination. They are entitled to receive travel allowance a few times during their studies but not more than once a year. |
|c. || Direct Track PhD students – eligible to submit a request before passing their candidacy examination only if they have not received a travel allowance during their MSc studies. After passing their candidacy examination their criteria are as specified in #b above.|
|d. || The amount awarded for each trip is determined by a committee [the Vice Dean of the Graduate School and the Head of the Scholarship Dept.] according to academic achievements, the nature of the conference and budgetary considerations. |

[PDF] and attach a letter from your supervisor or academic department committing to the supplementary amount.
Deadlines for submission of the requests for travel allowance are: 1 December; 1 March; 1 June; 1 August, for trips taking place after these dates. After the fact requests will not be accepted.
In any case a graduate student who wishes to travel to a conference abroad, even without requesting an allowance from the Graduate School, he/she has to submit the
