Texture replacement is the process of painting a new texture over an existing textured image patch, in a manner that preserves the
characteristics of the original patch. There are many applications for texture replacement, such as interior design, product design,
and computer graphics. Previous papers for texture replacement are limited to a specific type of textures. In this work, we present a full framework for texture replacement based on multiview image 3D reconstruction, which produces depth information at every pixel.
The use of several images allows us to address the inherent limitation of previous studies, which are tailored to specific
The results shows our success in coping with diverse types of texture. We demonstrate that our method is not limited to a specific type of texture both in the texture to be replaced and in the new generated texture. For example, we were able upholster a
new quilt on a sofa and to paint a logo on a bread.
